Antinatalism and Selection

The focus of this issue aims to contribute to an expansion of feminist analyses and interventions on the topic of reproduction. In times of multiple global crises coming to a head, the question of motherhood and parenthood can no longer be reduced to individualised and/or decontextualised legal claims. The contributions point to complex (global) power relations that lead to a selective promotion of certain parenthoods and family constellations. The open section contains articles on the role of university communication in making female scholars visible and on the academic support staff at universities. It also addresses the question of the significance of the familial norm for single-parent families and provides an overview of the measures and gaps in the non-quota strategies of German state parties. Four reviews of current literature from gender research round off the journal.
